How do I check a dermal filler is genuine?
If the unit carries a Project Sentinel tag, tap it with an NFC-capable smartphone before use. The page that opens returns one verdict for that specific unit: authentic, expired, recalled, suspended, out-of-market, or not genuine. The check identifies the unit and reports its current status. It does not assess the product inside, and it does not replace a clinic’s own receiving, storage and handling checks.
Can a clinic verify an injectable before treatment?
Yes. The check is one tap and needs no app and no login, so it fits into the moment the unit is picked up rather than becoming a separate administrative step. The verdict reflects the unit’s status at the moment of the tap, so a batch recalled or suspended earlier that day reads as recalled or suspended, not as authentic.
What does out-of-market mean on an injectable?
A unit released for one market and tapped in another returns out-of-market rather than authentic. The unit itself may well be genuine; what the verdict reports is that it has left the distribution it was sold into. That is the usual signature of diverted stock, and it shows on the first tap rather than months later during reconciliation.
How quickly does a recall reach a clinic?
A brand marks a batch recalled in the platform, and from that point every unit in the batch stops returning authentic. Recall is the highest-precedence verdict, so it overrides every other state a unit could be in. It takes effect on the next tap, without waiting for the stock to be physically retrieved from clinics or distributors.
Can a distributor prove where a unit came from?
Each unit is registered to a batch when its tag is written, and every later tap is recorded with a time and a place. That gives a per-unit history rather than a paper trail attached to a whole shipment, so a disputed unit can be traced without relying only on the documents that travelled alongside it.
